Every update to the platform, newest first. Each release lists what's been added, improved and fixed, and clearly marks anything you need to do.
The EA quarterly return, and capped loads
A new widget builds your EA quarterly return and fills in the EA's own workbook, capped loads draft their own claims, and sites can now state more of their own detail.
EA quarterly return. A new widget builds your return from your loads, including the materials facility rows and the supplier, destination and sample sheets, and fills in the EA's own workbook. A quarter with tonnage and no samples is warned and confirmed.
Capped loads. Book a load as capped, with its payload and haulage cost. A short load drafts a claim for the shortfall for you to confirm.
Your own weighbridges and scales. Add, rename and retire them in Sites and permits.
A clock warning. A line at the top of the screen says if this computer's clock is wrong.
Lists per site. Each site can offer its own materials and vehicle types, in Sites and permits.
Outputs from sample data. Processing can fill a batch's outputs from sample data, marked as estimated.
Expected EWC on Load booking. Where the grade supplies the code, it shows as one line with a Change link.
Over-draws. An over-draw from a lot now says how much the lot holds.
See everything. The notice after an update now links to the full list in Help, and to these notes.
Settings after signing in. A theme or window change made just after signing in is no longer undone.
DWTS receipts across permits. Stock moved between facilities on different permits is logged with DWTS as a receipt.
What a site states. Each site can state its own SIC code for its outbound transfer notes, the grade its residue is classed as, and its technically competent people. A customer site can state its local authority area.
Weight sources. A weight marked as from a weighbridge or a stored tare must really have come from one.
Scottish (SEPA) register. The waste-carrier register has been refreshed to 30 October 2026.
Welsh (NRW) register. The waste-carrier register is now read correctly, including expiry dates and registrations that are not granted. A carrier whose registration has expired now reads as expired.
Automated attempts. Sign-in and password reset now check for automated attempts.
Keep weighing when the internet goes down
A load weighed in during an outage can now be tipped and weighed out while the line is still down, and everything syncs by itself when it comes back.
With the internet down, On-site vehicles still lists every vehicle, even ones not synced yet.
A load can be tipped with the internet down: it keeps the time you tipped it and syncs later.
A loaded lorry can be weighed out with the internet down in the same way.
With the internet down, the Stock widget shows the stock as it last stood, and says from when.
Install Horais on your computer
Horais can now be installed and opened in its own window, and it reopens even when the internet is down.
Install Horais from the top bar: it opens in its own window, even with the internet down.
A weighbridge opened with the internet down uses the lists kept on this computer, and says so.
Reopened during an outage, Horais goes straight back in and syncs by itself when the line is back.
Horais has a new icon in the browser tab and on the installed app.
If an invitation email cannot be sent, you are now told, and it is logged.
A session limit
Horais now signs people out of a computer left idle, with a warning first, and never while the internet is down.
After 12 hours signed in, 30 minutes without use signs you out. You are warned 5 minutes before.
Close every Horais window and, after 15 minutes, you will need to sign in again.
Nobody is signed out while the internet connection is down.
Your own DWTS API code
Each organisation now submits to the Digital Waste Tracking Service under its own API code, entered in Tenant settings.
Action required
An administrator needs to enter your organisation's DWTS API code in Tenant settings. Movements are not sent to DWTS without it.
Customers: the add-site form opens from an "Add a site" link.
Tenant settings: enter your organisation's DWTS API code. Movements are not sent without it.
A DWTS API code DEFRA refuses now says so plainly, and where to check it.
Found stock, safer support, and what is new
Stock found at a stock-take can be recorded, Horais support needs your approval to help inside your account, and Horais now tells you what changed after an update.
Storage bays: stock found at a stock-take can be recorded as a load in its bay.
Horais now tells you what changed after an update, and when a newer version is ready.
"Forgot password?" now works for an account that has an authenticator.
What you typed is kept when a form is refused, so you can correct it and try again.
Horais support can help inside your account, but only once an administrator approves.
Register refresh and routine updates
The Scottish waste-carrier register was brought up to date, along with routine updates to the software Horais is built on.
The Scottish (SEPA) waste-carrier register was refreshed from its latest export.
Routine security and maintenance updates to the software Horais is built on.
One source for material grades
Material grades now come from one place, the Horais material library, and problem reports reach the Horais team in full.
The Horais team can now pick up and resolve problem reports directly, and the person who reported one is told.
Requesting a grade now accepts the EWC code however you type it.
A problem report now reaches the Horais team with everything you wrote.
Material grades now have one way in: the Horais material library. If you need a grade that is not there, request it in the Material library widget.
Direct Ticket Entry, and help for every widget
Tickets can now be entered after the event, for a weighbridge that is not linked to Horais, and every widget has its own help.
Direct Ticket Entry. Enter inbound and outbound tickets after the event, one after another without a refresh. It is available to the people you give permission to. The transfer note says it was entered after the event.
Bookings for a chosen day. The day's booked loads are listed as short rows, and a load against an order or with no booking goes on the full form.
Help for every widget. Each one now has help checked against what it does today.
Opening a set-password link no longer uses it up, and it takes you to Horais.
Book a number of loads at once
An order for several identical loads no longer needs each one typed in.
Number of loads. On an order, fill in one load and say how many, up to 50. Each gets its own reference and QR code, at the same price. Expected dates are left blank, to set on each load afterwards.
Clearer transfer notes and processing draws
Improvements to what the waste transfer note states, and to how much stock a processing batch can draw.
Outbound: the buyer's recorded sites are in view, with the option to type a destination beneath them.
Processing now draws against the level of the bay, the same figure the Stock widget shows.
A tonnage order now always carries its order-level QR code.
An inbound waste transfer note now states its management route.
Section C of the waste transfer note now reads "Person receiving the waste".
Container defaults and transfer note routes
Containers now fill in from the vehicle and the material, and the transfer note ticks its route from what the load is doing.
The container on a load now fills in from the vehicle body, then from the typical form of the grade.
A list that opens on a date range now shows what your search finds before you choose dates.
The vehicle type picker no longer lists a type twice as you type.
The waste transfer note now ticks its management route from the recovery or disposal operation stated for the load.
A reason for each typed weight
Each weight entered by hand now states its own reason, and replies to Horais emails reach the support inbox.
Replying to an email from Horais now reaches the support inbox.
Each typed weight now states its own reason, so a load with two weights typed by hand records why for each.
A fuller outbound transfer note
The outbound waste transfer note now says more about where the load is going and how.
The outbound waste transfer note now states its destination, its route and its transport.
Outbound tare correction
A fix to how a typed empty weight is recorded on a weigh-out.
Outbound: a tare typed by hand is now recorded as typed, with its reason, rather than as a stored tare.
A more reliable register update
Updates to the waste-carrier registers now cope with the size of the full registers.
Updating a waste-carrier register now copes with the full size of the register.
The first release of Horais
The full operating loop for one waste site: weigh a load in, hold it in stock, process it and weigh it out, with the compliance and the charging that goes with it.
Weighbridge. Weigh loads in and out by linked weighbridge or by hand, with a reason for every weight entered by hand. Weighing carries on through an internet outage and syncs afterwards.
Stock, bays and processing. See what each bay holds, tip loads into bays, and process material into graded outputs.
Load booking and customers. Book loads and orders, and manage customers, their sites and hauliers.
Waste transfer notes and consignment notes. Issued with the load, including the waste hierarchy declaration and hazardous waste details.
Permits and carrier checks. A load whose waste code your permit does not cover is stopped at the gate, and carrier licences are checked against the waste-carrier registers.
POPs handling. Waste containing persistent organic pollutants is kept apart and routed for treatment by the system, not by a warning.
Digital Waste Tracking Service. Movements are built ready to submit to DWTS.
Pricing and invoicing. Rate cards, your choice of which weight to price on, and gapless invoice numbering.
Audit trail. Every weight, price change, override and state change is recorded with who made it.

How we number releases
Each version has three numbers, for example 1.4.2. The number that changes tells you how big the update is.
Major
First number, e.g. 2.0.0
A significant update that may change how parts of Horais work. We'll explain any changes to your workflows well in advance.
Minor
Middle number, e.g. 1.5.0
New features and improvements. Everything you already use keeps working as before.
Patch
Last number, e.g. 1.4.3
Fixes and small adjustments. No change to how you work.
